Friday Felines

We get the cats summer cuts when the weather starts getting warm. Here are Smokey and Zoe before their cuts.

And here’s Smokey after his cut.

You can’t really see the mane unless you look from above.

Poor Smokey has been sneaking around in a crouch since he got back from the groomer. It was a traumatic experience for him.

Zoe has a pot belly you can see when his fur is cut, and so does Smokey. You can’t see Smokey’s in these pictures. That’s a concession to his self esteem. We think he’s embarrassed to be seen without his regular coat.

Sylvester also got a cut, but we don’t have a good before and after for him. He’s staying outside more now, so it’s hard to get him to pose.

  1. Our kitty cat Bonsai got his lion cut yesterday too! We had it done because no matter how many times a day we brush his Maine Coon coat, he gets matted up in summer. Bonsai does NOT like have his fur cut. Our vet sedates him. It takes a day for him to recover. I actually think the cats look cute with their summer cuts, even though we do see their pot bellies!

  2. Our cat Sylvester was so upset during the process that the groomer couldn’t completely finish the job. He was *not* happy. But Smokey is usually the most laid-back of all the cats, so it was surprising that he seemed so spooked when he got home.
