Stony pillow

Dusty lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there.

And he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.

  1. “Stone Pillow” was the name of a change-of-pace movie Lucille Ball did late in her career. She played a homeless woman.

  2. These words seemed so familiar to me, so I googled “lighted up and tarried there.” Ah, it’s from Genesis. I’m not a reader of the bible, so I’m not sure how I would know these words. I love Dusty’s Stone Pillow.

  3. Pablo — I sort of vaguely remember that movie, but nothing about it. I googled it and, again, it seemed vaguely familiar. It may be my memory playing tricks on me.

Robin — I took a Bible class in high school in which we read the entire Bible and studied it, mainly as literature, and I grew up in a Baptist church. As a result, I can remember a little about a whole lot of verses. I remembered that someone had used a stone as a pillow, but I had to look it up to figure out who.

  4. Cats sleep in the most uncomfortable seeming places. I believe it’s because they have optionally expressed bones.
