This is Zoe and Zeke sharing a few moments together in the sun.
They aren’t buddies, but sometimes they tolerate each other because they both want to lie in the sun.

Sharing a spot in the sunlight is not a bad basis for coexistence.
Amazing how the sun can soften even the most bristly.
Ridger — Yes. I think they figured out that no one has to lose at that game.
Robin — They’re kind of funny when they’er lying in the sun. They can barely muster the strength to open their eyes.
Cats, purported to be solitary animals, seem to defy expectations, sunlight or not.
Our now ten year old Gene (tuxedo cat) has no cat-social skills whatsoever, and has been hated with a passion by every cat since he came into the household. Even sunlight doesn’t work.
Then we got Colon, the little kitty, last year, another tux. He instantly gravitated to Gene, leaping onto him and tackling him any time the two of them are together. This has continued unabated over the past year. And it worked! Gene loves it, has been completely tolerant of Colon, and it seems to have relieved the stress on all the other cats.
Granted, this little story doesn’t exactly fit, except that cats are weird to me, even after 35 years with them.
Wayne — That’s interesting. I wonder if a cat exists that could do the same with Zoe. He doesn’t get along with anyone, at least not for very long.
